Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Part-time

This part-time Nurse Practitioner position provides direct patient care across a 78-bed residential and withdrawal management facility, Mental Health Outpatient Clinic, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic, working 16-24 hours weekly.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an addiction treatment and behavioral health setting serving patients in residential care, withdrawal management, outpatient mental health services, and MAT programs.

Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

• Maintain outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs
• Collaborate with nursing staff to determine medical eligibility
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations for inpatient and outpatient programs
• Perform physical examinations and document patient medical history within approved timeframes
• Coordinate post-discharge referrals for ongoing medical care
• Initiate standing orders
• Maintain managed care requirements, including timely and appropriate medication formulary utilization
• Assess, diagnose, and prescribe medical, mental health, and rehabilitative treatment
• Provide guidance on mental health aspects of treatment in withdrawal management, residential, outpatient, and MAT settings
• Provide positive guidance for all areas of patient medical care
• Perform duties within Joint Commission standard policies and plans
• Oversee coordination of care by attending and participating in clinical staffing
• Assist in development, coordination, and completion of educational programs for staff, patients, and community as appropriate
• Act as a liaison to third-party payers on behalf of the organization and its patients

Quality Improvement

• Ensure the organization meets and surpasses Joint Commission, managed care, and other accreditation standards relative to medical services
• Assist with and participate in quality improvement processes
• Participate in peer review as assigned

Supervision occurs through effective scores on peer review, feedback from referral sources, compliance with Joint Commission and Ohio Department of Behavioral Health certification standards, and contractual requirements of third-party payers.

Required Qualifications

• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio
• Licensure or eligibility as a Medicaid provider in Ohio

Preferred Qualifications

• ASAM certification
• Previous experience providing medical care in an addiction treatment and behavioral health inpatient setting
• Provider numbers for Kentucky and Indiana
