Nurse Practitioner -PRN- Same Day Surgery/PACU-

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a PRN (as-needed) position in Same Day Surgery and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, you will provide primary care to patients following established standards and practices in collaboration with providers, supporting the surgical and recovery care continuum.

Clinical Setting

You will work within Saint Francis Healthcare System, a leading regional healthcare provider serving over 715,000 people across five states. The system operates a 306-bed Medical Center with nearly 3,000 team members and over 300 providers, offering more than 50 specialties including the region's only Level III Emergency and Trauma Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to patients in the Same Day Surgery and PACU settings
• Collaborate with physicians and providers on patient care plans
• Maintain quality control standards and respond effectively during emergency situations
• Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, staff, and the public
• Follow detailed oral and written instructions
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and electronic systems for ordering, medical records, and common computer programs
• Maintain knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to ensure a safe working environment
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, examination procedures, diagnostics, and treatment room procedures

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner Program
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Missouri
• Current Advanced Practice Nurse license in Missouri
• Current BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification (required in specialty areas)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and examination, diagnostics, and treatment room procedures
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and the public
• Ability to maintain calm and effective reactions during emergency situations
• Ability to learn and efficiently utilize diagnostic equipment, electronic systems, and common computer programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a family nurse practitioner
