Nurse Practitioner PRN - Pediatrics WIC

UTHealth Houston is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner to join the Pediatric WIC team. In this role, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting under the direction of a physician.

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a nutrition program serving pregnant and breastfeeding women and families with children younger than 5. You will support patients in achieving healthy pregnancies, successful breastfeeding, and optimal nutrition for young children.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) state licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON)
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner (APRN-NP) certification by Texas Board of Nursing (BON)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association (AHA)
• Clinical specialty certification determined by the department

Education

• Master's Degree in Nursing as NP or Master's Degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects

Additional Requirements

• This is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094.
