Nurse Practitioner-Peds Hospitalists-FT-1st Shift

This full-time, first-shift position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive direct patient care to pediatric hospitalized patients as a Nurse Practitioner. You will obtain detailed patient histories, perform complete physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, diagnose illness, prescribe pharmacological and other treatments, and provide health maintenance and health promotion interventions including patient and family education and counseling.

Beyond direct patient care, you will assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities that support the clinical team and organization, including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Master's of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university
• Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for Nurse Practitioner
• Current registration through the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners
• Approval of the Huntsville Hospital credentialing board
• BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period
• PALS certification required within the first 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner national certification
• Minimum 3 years full-time pediatric RN and/or CRNP experience
