This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive pediatric neurology care as a Nurse Practitioner. You will perform patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, manage patient rounds, and coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

  • Take initial patient histories and perform physical examinations
  • Initiate, document, and communicate plans of care with appropriate follow-up to ensure complete patient screening and preparation
  • Perform daily patient rounds
  • Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests
  • Interpret laboratory and test results
  • Confer with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure optimal quality of patient care
  • Document discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts
  • Provide patients with post-discharge care instructions
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and educational activities

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program
  • National Board Certification in specialty area
  • Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
  • Collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education OR collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015
  • Current BLS certification
