Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists (PNS) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient private mental health group practice. You will work alongside psychiatrists, physician assistants, and patient care coordinators to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and compassionate psychiatric care. This role offers a mix of office-based outpatient and telepsychiatry services.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and conduct psychiatric assessments for patients with mental health conditions
- Prescribe medications and manage ongoing medication therapy for new and existing patients
- Conduct initial in-person and telemedicine psychiatric evaluations
- Perform medication management and monitoring visits
- Renew and refill medications to maintain continuity of treatment
- Develop integrated healthcare treatment plans appropriate to each patient's needs
- Provide effective patient care management with proper evaluation and follow-up
- Educate patients about their diagnoses and preventative practices for managing acute and chronic conditions
- Provide education, assistance, and support to family members and others involved in the patient's care to enhance their understanding of mental and emotional illness and support the rehabilitation process
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid license to practice in the State of California
- Valid NPI number
- Full prescription authority
- Current DEA licensure
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
