Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Surgical Services (Monroe)

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Surgical Services at the Monroe Campus. This is a full-time, days position providing 24/7 PA coverage with rotating weekends (1 in 4-5) and a rotating holiday schedule.

You will provide comprehensive healthcare services to surgical patients under the supervision of and in collaboration with attending physicians. This role combines clinical assessment, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic intervention, surgical assistance, and patient education in a team-based surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, counsel, and educate patients and families receiving medical services
• Evaluate patients and perform physical examinations, obtaining and updating medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including radiologic and laboratory studies to identify abnormal conditions
• Develop and implement appropriate patient management and treatment plans based on clinical assessment
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures aligned with granted clinical privileges
• Coordinate and communicate patient care effectively with other healthcare professionals and institutions
• Provide high-quality healthcare based on best practice and evidence-based medicine
• Conduct virtual care services including live, interactive clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment via St. Luke's virtual care platform
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional societies
• Participate in research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical management guidelines
• Teach multidisciplinary students and physician residents and fellows, ensuring a positive educational environment
• Serve as a clinical rotation preceptor for AP students when assigned
• Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical outcomes, customer service, operational processes, and safety
• Maintain current and optimal electronic medical record documentation for billing purposes
• Demonstrate financial responsibility through effective and efficient use of resources
• Develop care and disposition plans in conjunction with the case management team
• Serve as a patient advocate and participate in patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Board-eligible or board-certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (as determined by job location)
• For Physician Assistants: current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
