Marathon Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Stoughton, Wisconsin location. In this role, you will practice relationship-based primary care medicine at the top of your license, providing comprehensive care including prevention, chronic disease management, health education, and acute care services to patients.
Clinical Setting
You will work in Marathon Health's advanced primary care model, which emphasizes quality over volume. This is not a fee-for-service environment. Instead, success is measured by health outcomes and patient wellness.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care including routine wellness visits, chronic disease management, and urgent care
- Offer preventive care and health education to patients
- Practice autonomously with clinical autonomy appropriate to your license and state regulations
- Utilize clinical resources including UpToDate and RubiconMD at no cost
- Participate in provider meetings, journal clubs, and grand rounds for ongoing professional development
Schedule and Patient Panel
- Smaller patient panel size compared to traditional primary care settings
- Appointments range from 20 to 60 minutes, allowing more time with each patient
- Reduced administrative and insurance-related tasks
Required Qualifications
For Nurse Practitioner:
- Active state license
- Current ANCC or AANP board certification
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
- Federal DEA number preferred; may be required for full prescribing ability
For Physician Assistant:
- Active state license
- Current NCCPA board certification
- CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
- Federal DEA number preferred; may be required for full prescribing ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent practice provider status, where applicable per state regulation

- Independent family practice experience including routine wellness care, chronic care management, and urgent visits
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year
- $10,000 sign-on bonus
- Non-production-based compensation package
- Comprehensive benefits including CME allowance, medical license coverage, DEA registration, and malpractice insurance
