Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic surgery practice. This is a clinic-based role focused on providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care across our multi-location practice in Jupiter and Delray Beach.

Clinical Setting

Center for Bone & Joint Surgery is a multi-location orthopedic practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. Our facilities feature on-site X-ray, MRI, and physical therapy services, providing a comprehensive continuum of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health status, wellness, and compliance with care plans
  • Determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Provide acute and chronic patient care including histories, physicals, therapy monitoring, injections, medications, and wound suturing
  • Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems
  • Respond to emergencies including CPR
  • Document patient information and care in medical records
  • Educate patients and families about their conditions and procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians in managing patient medical needs
  • Participate in hospital rounds
  • Respond to patient calls after hours and on weekends
  • Consult with other staff members as necessary
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Project manage ancillary services
  • Respond to all emails within one business day

Required Qualifications

  • ADN or BSN degree
  • Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols and medication administration
  • Knowledge of physical care delivery following treatment plans
  • Ability to assess patients with chronic medical conditions and understand disease pathophysiology
  • Knowledge of health promotion principles and patient education techniques
  • Skill in inserting intravenous catheters
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting medical records
  • Ability to gather and analyze physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data
  • Skill in evaluating and revising patient care based on symptoms and objective assessment
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of practice and clinic protocols
  • Ability to provide education materials about procedures
  • Commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to communicate openly with providers
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in orthopedic care
  • Commitment to long-term employment

Schedule

  • Clinic work 8-10 half days per week
  • Almost exclusively clinic-based with occasional inpatient care as needed
  • No emergency department call
  • On-call for patient calls during non-business hours, averaging approximately 2 calls per week
  • Willingness to travel to Jupiter office and Delray Beach office once per week
