Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA/CNM/WHNP) (San Jose, CA) - New Grads Welcome

Join a reproductive health clinic in San Jose as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife. You will provide comprehensive reproductive health services to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced outpatient setting, including contraceptive care, abortion services, STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming services, and preventive care as part of a collaborative clinical team.

Clinical Setting

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week in a community health center environment. You will work standard health center hours with no after-hours charting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical and social history for both male and female reproductive health patients
• Perform appropriate medical screening procedures and exams for male and female patients
• Interpret laboratory data, order additional investigations when indicated, and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections
• Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genitourinary conditions
• Provide medication abortion as indicated
• Prescribe and educate on emergency contraception
• Diagnose and treat uncomplicated STIs and genitourinary conditions
• Perform wart treatment and basic dermatological procedures
• Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy and related care
• Offer premenopausal and menopausal health services
• Conduct and interpret medical histories for sexual and reproductive health visits
• Perform pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and other screening procedures
• Act as a medical consultant to clinic staff
• Manage emergency situations in the health center
• Participate in staff meetings relating to center management and provide staff training in current medical procedures relevant to reproductive health
• Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals
• Demonstrate customer service standards
• Assist in other areas of center support work as required

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife program
• Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of California
• Board Certification
• CPR/BLS certification (current or within 30 days of hire)
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to thrive in a team-based environment
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in reproductive health, OB/GYN, gender-affirming care, or family planning
• Commitment to providing care that is respectful, inclusive, and affirming to all patients

Compensation and Benefits

Hiring at $70-74 per hour. This salary is provided upon completion of a robust 4-6 month training program and a positive 6-month review. Clinician I employees are promoted to Clinician II following this review.
