Join a reproductive health clinic in San Jose as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife. You will provide comprehensive reproductive health services to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced outpatient setting, including contraceptive care, abortion services, STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming services, and preventive care as part of a collaborative clinical team.
Clinical Setting
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week in a community health center environment. You will work standard health center hours with no after-hours charting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medical and social history for both male and female reproductive health patients
- Perform appropriate medical screening procedures and exams for male and female patients
- Interpret laboratory data, order additional investigations when indicated, and ensure appropriate follow-up
- Provide a full range of contraceptive methods, including self-administered options and injections
- Perform medical assessment and management of basic STI and genitourinary conditions
- Provide medication abortion as indicated
- Prescribe and educate on emergency contraception
- Diagnose and treat uncomplicated STIs and genitourinary conditions
- Perform wart treatment and basic dermatological procedures
- Provide gender-affirming hormone therapy and related care
- Offer premenopausal and menopausal health services
- Conduct and interpret medical histories for sexual and reproductive health visits
- Perform pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and other screening procedures
- Act as a medical consultant to clinic staff
- Manage emergency situations in the health center
- Participate in staff meetings relating to center management and provide staff training in current medical procedures relevant to reproductive health
- Contribute to achieving health center productivity goals
- Demonstrate customer service standards
- Assist in other areas of center support work as required
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, or Certified Nurse Midwife program
- Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of California
- Board Certification
- CPR/BLS certification (current or within 30 days of hire)
- Strong customer service mindset and ability to thrive in a team-based environment
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based systems

- Commitment to providing care that is respectful, inclusive, and affirming to all patients
Compensation and Benefits
Hiring at $70-74 per hour. This salary is provided upon completion of a robust 4-6 month training program and a positive 6-month review. Clinician I employees are promoted to Clinician II following this review.
