Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant | Nephrology

Avera St Luke's Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the nephrology team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients with kidney disease and related conditions, working collaboratively with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Clinical Setting

You will work at Avera St Luke's Hospital in a nephrology specialty practice, providing direct patient care in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff-approved protocols and acceptable standards of practice
• Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols
• Interpret diagnostic findings and consult with the physician regarding abnormal health assessment results to establish appropriate plans of care
• Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members
• Ensure appropriate patient referrals are made
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Provide quality care while demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices
• Recognize and respond appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care
• Contribute to the development and attainment of physician practice goals
• Practice according to written, approved protocols and applicable licensing and administrative requirements

Schedule

• Primarily days with possible weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Regular full-time employment

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) with active state license, OR Physician Assistant (PA) with active state license
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (for NP candidates)
• Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
• Must be licensed and qualified to practice in the state of assignment
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification (for PA candidates)
