Mayo Clinic Health System Minnesota is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Medical Oncology practice in Albert Lea, with planned outreach care to Owatonna. You will work within a physician-led team of board-certified Hematology and Oncology physicians, collaborating with multiple specialties including Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. This role focuses on the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of various types of cancer, with participation in weekly tumor boards and clinical research trials.

Clinical Setting

You will provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting and may support the infusion center. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Medical Oncologists, RNs, LPNs, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, and other ancillary support staff. Telemedicine services are included in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Hematology/Oncology specific histories and physicals
  • Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members
  • Devise and implement treatment care plans
  • Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding Hematology/Oncology conditions
  • Provide Hematology/Oncology follow-up care
  • Provide clinical time in the outpatient setting and infusion center support as needed

Required Qualifications

For Nurse Practitioner:

  • Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Minnesota RN and APRN license
  • Certification as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP
  • One or more years of APP experience in Medical Hematology/Oncology (new graduates are not being considered)

For Physician Assistant:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current PA certification by NCCPA
  • Registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice
  • One or more years of APP experience in Medical Hematology/Oncology (new graduates are not being considered)

Additional Requirements

  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date
  • DEA registration required

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekends or holidays
  • 80 hours per pay period

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $119,870.40 - $167,273.60 per year (at 1.0 FTE)
