Prisma Health Urgent Care is seeking Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to deliver high-quality medical care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric patients, working collaboratively with center physicians to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Clinical Setting
This role is based in Clemson and operates within an urgent care environment. You will provide direct patient care, manage diagnostic studies, and perform minor procedures as part of a team-based care model.
Responsibilities
- Plan, evaluate, and implement high-quality medical care with appropriate resource management for adult and pediatric patients
- Perform clinical procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
- Read and interpret diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- Deliver patient care in compliance with Professional Staff Bylaws, organizational policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records and documentation
- Ensure appropriate communication to facilitate patient care and reimbursement
- Serve as a resource for patients, families, and staff
- Participate in meetings and activities to support urgent care operations
- Maintain current BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or NALS certification and any additional specialty certifications as required
- Adhere to Prisma Health Urgent Care service and courtesy standards
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid license to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C or FNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in South Carolina
- Advanced degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current DEA registration
- Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses
- Experience reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- BLS certification (provided if needed)
- Eligibility for credentialing through WellStreet Urgent Care
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and employees
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency medicine
Schedule
- PRN (as-needed) positions available
- Flexible 3-day/12-hour week schedule with 8am-8pm hours for full-time status
- Full-time status and benefits eligibility begin at 30 hours per week
- No overnight shifts required
