Cardiovascular Institute of the South, part of the national Cardiovascular Logistics platform, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide advanced clinical cardiovascular care. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within Louisiana state regulations and national standards.
Clinical Setting
You will deliver care across multiple settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, infusion centers, and emergency departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed health histories and physical examinations
- Document progress notes, discharge summaries, and diagnostic interpretations
- Initiate and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments
- Coordinate patient care through rounds, interdisciplinary collaboration, and communication with families and providers
- Lead and participate in committees, patient care projects, and community education efforts
- Maintain clinical excellence through continuing education, research participation, and mentoring
- Ensure compliance and quality through accurate record-keeping and billing documentation
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited CRNP or PA program
- Current Louisiana licensure
- National certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- EKG course completion within 12 months
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
