Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Bariatric Program Medical Weight Management

Beacon Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Bariatric Program Medical Weight Management team. Working in collaboration with a physician, you will provide individualized primary healthcare services, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic health conditions for patients in the bariatric and medical weight management specialty.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform comprehensive assessments through observation, interview, and physical examination
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies
• Provide preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and patient care
• Deliver direct treatment and management of health conditions, including referrals to other healthcare providers and community resources
• Counsel and educate patients and their families or caregivers regarding preventative health, treatment options, and available community resources
• Document all healthcare delivery and nursing processes in accordance with specialty area standards and network nursing policy

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing
• Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
• Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
• BLS Provider certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire date or job transfer date
• All credentials must be verified by the local Credentialing Office

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Day shift
