Gastroenterology experience
Associates in Gastroenterology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our gastroenterology clinic team in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week over 4 days and provides an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced physicians while delivering high-quality care to patients managing acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions in a clinic setting.
Clinical Setting
You will work in an outpatient gastroenterology clinic, collaborating with physicians to provide patient-focused care with autonomy and variety in your clinical work.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage new patient consults and follow-up visits
- Provide routine and urgent follow-up care in the clinic
- Perform comprehensive physical exams and document findings
- Conduct G-tube changes and hemorrhoid banding (training provided)
- Administer medications and injections
- Order and interpret lab tests and diagnostic procedures
- Educate patients about conditions, medications, and treatment plans
- Provide guidance on health maintenance and illness prevention
- Connect patients with community resources when appropriate
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Provide telephone triage and consultation for patient concerns
- Communicate patient care plans, visit notes, and results with supervising physicians
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nursing license
- Graduate degree required by your state to obtain NP licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Board certification with prescriptive authority from a national Nurse Practitioner certification board
- Three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of billing services
- Understanding of physician/NP/patient relationship responsibilities
