Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Emergency Room Part-Time

Ascent Emergency Medical Center is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our emergency medicine team. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting, working under physician supervision to diagnose and treat acute injuries and illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
• Provide medical services under the supervision of a physician
• Identify short-term and long-range patient care issues to contribute to physician efficiency
• Interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests
• Counsel patients concerning medical and psychological/psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and behavior modification
• Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience
• Master's degree or higher
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification
• Active State Medical License
• DEA License
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation principles and procedures
• Ability to interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with computers and related software applications
