Nurse Practitioner

Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide and manage direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients in accordance with evidence-based treatment guidelines. NOAH serves over 40,000 patients with comprehensive, integrated, and affordable healthcare services including medical, dental, behavioral health, nutrition, preventive health, eligibility assistance, and health education programs.

Clinical Setting

You will work within a community health center environment serving a diverse patient population in need of accessible healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment
• Prescribe pharmaceuticals, medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
• Review and update medical records in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
• Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate
• Interact with patients and families to keep them informed and engaged in healthcare decisions and direction
• Provide counseling, education, and resource information on wellness, prevention of illness, and health maintenance
• Direct and coordinate patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement standards, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards
• Abide by and enforce all PPE standards for clinical staff
• Attend, participate in, and assist with meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing-related field (MS, MN, or MSN) from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited program
• National Certification as Nurse Practitioner from an approved national certifying agency
• Certified Nurse Practitioner as aligned with the Arizona Board of Nursing scope of practice for nurse practitioners
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug testing

Preferred Qualifications

• X waivered
• Valid and current Arizona Nurse Practitioner license with Prescriptive Authority
• One or more years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner

• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
• Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
• Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
• Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
• Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to speak English; Spanish preferred
