Join the Heart & Vascular Center as a Nurse Practitioner MSN to provide comprehensive primary and acute care services in a clinic setting. In this role, you will assess and treat patients, develop and manage therapeutic care plans, and work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status and health potential, and plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare needs for patients and families
- Perform history and physical examinations, record clinical data, and identify normal and abnormal findings
- Consult with physicians to determine treatment plans and manage therapeutic regimens
- Perform clinical and therapeutic procedures as appropriate
- Teach and counsel patients regarding current health status, illness signs and symptoms, and growth and development
- Assume a leadership role in developing nursing care policies and procedures for the unit
- Assist with planning and monitoring quality improvement and control activities for the unit
- Maintain and document all applicable required education
- Demonstrate positive customer service and professional relationships with colleagues
- Comply with attendance policies and participate in continuous quality improvement activities
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with departmental scheduling policies, including overtime and on-call situations
- Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) credential
- Ability to obtain and interpret patient information in terms of patient needs
- Knowledge of growth and development
- Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients in the Heart & Vascular specialty
- Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation
Licenses and Certifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
Schedule
- Full-time regular position (1.0 FTE)
- Day shift
- Work schedule includes various shift work and on-call situations as needed
