Nurse Practitioner MSN

Join the Heart & Vascular Center as a Nurse Practitioner MSN to provide comprehensive primary and acute care services in a clinic setting. In this role, you will assess and treat patients, develop and manage therapeutic care plans, and work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health status and health potential, and plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare needs for patients and families
• Perform history and physical examinations, record clinical data, and identify normal and abnormal findings
• Consult with physicians to determine treatment plans and manage therapeutic regimens
• Perform clinical and therapeutic procedures as appropriate
• Teach and counsel patients regarding current health status, illness signs and symptoms, and growth and development
• Assume a leadership role in developing nursing care policies and procedures for the unit
• Assist with planning and monitoring quality improvement and control activities for the unit
• Maintain and document all applicable required education
• Demonstrate positive customer service and professional relationships with colleagues
• Comply with attendance policies and participate in continuous quality improvement activities
• Perform work in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with departmental scheduling policies, including overtime and on-call situations
• Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) credential
• Ability to obtain and interpret patient information in terms of patient needs
• Knowledge of growth and development
• Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients in the Heart & Vascular specialty
• Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation

Licenses and Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

Schedule

• Full-time regular position (1.0 FTE)
• Day shift
• Work schedule includes various shift work and on-call situations as needed
