The opportunity

Job Description

Join our occupational health clinic as a Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive medical evaluations and pre-employment examinations across multiple California locations. You will conduct physical examinations, assess patient health conditions, order and review diagnostic studies, develop treatment plans, and manage common illnesses within your scope of practice.

Clinical Setting

This full-time or part-time position is based at our occupational health clinic with locations in Rocklin, Sacramento, and Fairfield, California. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality occupational health and preventive medicine services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical evaluations
  • Conduct pre-employment and occupational health examinations
  • Obtain patient medical histories and assess current health conditions
  • Order and review laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
  • Perform or oversee EKG testing as appropriate to qualifications and clinic procedures
  • Evaluate patients and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Diagnose and manage common illnesses and medical conditions within your authorized scope of practice
  • Prescribe medications when authorized
  • Review examination findings and document results accurately
  • Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers when necessary
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records
  • Follow applicable federal and California healthcare regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals

Required Qualifications

  • Current, active Nurse Practitioner authorization in California
  • Current Registered Nurse license in California
  • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • National certification appropriate to your NP specialty
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in primary care, occupational health, urgent care, or family medicine
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience conducting pre-employment physical examinations
  • Familiarity with occupational health services and workplace medical evaluations
