Marshall Medical Center South is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a full-time position on the 3rd shift. You will provide comprehensive direct patient care in a 150-bed hospital setting, serving Marshall County and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform complete physical examinations
- Order and perform diagnostic testing and screening
- Diagnose illness and prescribe pharmacological and other treatments
- Provide health maintenance and promotion interventions including patient and family education and counseling
- Assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university with completion of Nurse Practitioner program
- Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for Nurse Practitioner
- Current registration through the Alabama Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners
- Approval of the Northwest Alabama Healthcare Authority credentialing board
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- ACLS and/or PALS certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequent task prioritization and changes
