Grady Health System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Heart & Vascular Center as a full-time Nurse Practitioner. In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments for critically ill patients. You will manage a caseload of complex patients in the ICU setting, working autonomously and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team under the supervision of the ICU supervising physician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnoses
  • Order, conduct, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments
  • Manage acute and chronic illness in critically ill patients
  • Promote health and prevention of illness and injury
  • Provide direct patient and family care
  • Serve as a consultant to the ICU team
  • Participate in research and patient/family/community advocacy
  • Manage a caseload of critically ill patients under physician supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant from the National Board of Medical Examiners or the Academy of Physician's Assistants
  • Two or more years of experience as a critical care nurse or two years serving as a Physician Assistant
  • Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse (for NPs)
  • Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse (for NPs)
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant specialization in critical care services for inpatient settings
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
