The opportunity
Job Description
This is an extern position for a Nurse Practitioner working under the direction of a designated neonatal provider. You will develop expertise in neonatal care while providing comprehensive care to neonates up to 6 months of age. Your responsibilities will include high-quality front-line care for infants in the delivery room, well-baby nursery, and neonatal intensive care unit, as well as follow-up care to newborns and infants.
Clinical Setting
- University Health, UMA - 9 ICU
- Neonatal care environments including delivery room, well-baby nursery, and neonatal intensive care unit
Schedule
- Full Time, Day Shift
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Prescriptive authority
- Valid DEA and DPS numbers must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
