Nurse Practitioner - Dermatology

We are a growing privately owned dermatology group with an established practice in Hillsboro, Oregon, seeking an experienced Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive dermatologic care and help expand our practice. In this role, you will independently diagnose and treat skin-related health concerns, perform dermatologic procedures, develop treatment plans, and make independent medical judgments while consulting with physicians on complex cases.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a fast-paced dermatology practice serving patients in Oregon and Washington. The practice offers a collaborative environment where you will work alongside physicians and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform dermatologic examinations
• Independently diagnose and treat skin-related health concerns
• Develop and implement treatment plans within your scope of practice
• Perform dermatologic procedures
• Write prescriptions for patients
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed
• Make independent medical judgments and consult with physicians on difficult or challenging cases
• Recommend treatments and products to benefit patients
• Assist patients in identifying their goals and selecting appropriate procedures to achieve optimal results
• Provide pre-treatment and post-treatment education and answer patient questions
• Ensure patient safety throughout all consultations and procedures
• Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction and follow up accordingly
• Follow all HIPAA regulations, patient privacy requirements, and health codes
• Support back office staff with medical questions, patient concerns, and follow-ups
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the practice

Required Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license
• Minimum one year of experience as a licensed practitioner with ability to function as a provider
• Ability to evaluate and manage patient complications
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to evaluate patient concerns and write prescriptions
• Ability to follow HIPAA and all patient privacy and health codes
• Ability to achieve patient satisfaction and follow up accordingly

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a licensed practitioner in dermatology
• Primary Care NP background (the practice will provide training for the right candidate)
