Nurse Practitioner

Join Decypher as a Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive primary and specialty medical care to America's service members, veterans, and their families. This onsite position at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier Parish, Louisiana offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the health and readiness of this unique patient population.

Clinical Setting

You will work within a military treatment facility (MTF) environment, collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care across a wide range of clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary and specialty medical care within your training and granted privileges, including screening, examinations, and treatment of patients with routine, acute, and chronic conditions involving any organ system
• Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and minor trauma conditions, and recognize emergency situations requiring referral to qualified medical personnel
• Prescribe medications and immunizations approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within your scope of practice
• Provide immunizations and preventive health services
• Counsel and educate patients on disease management, healthy regimens, and wellness responsibility
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through formal and individual education
• Direct and teach other staff members, provide educational lectures, and participate in training activities
• Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
• Establish collaborative relationships with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate primary care services
• Identify medical problems and determine appropriate action, including referral to physicians when indicated

Required Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program with completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program in your applicable specialty
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted state APRN/NP license
• Current national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner within the last 5 years
• U.S. Citizenship

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST
• 40 hours per week

Compensation

• Up to $130,000 annually plus benefits
