Nurse Practitioner-Contingent

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide contingent clinical coverage in our primary care practice located in Grass Valley, California. This is a flexible, as-needed position designed to cover provider absences due to PTO, illness, and other scheduling needs. The ideal candidate will be available to provide onsite patient care at our Grass Valley office; however, qualified providers able to offer telehealth-only coverage may also be considered when onsite coverage is unavailable.

Clinical Setting

This position operates within a primary care practice under the direction of a supervising physician. You will work collaboratively with physicians, medical assistants, administrative staff, and other members of the clinical care team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing
• Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and infectious conditions
• Prescribe medications and appropriate treatment plans within scope of practice
• Provide patient and family education regarding medical conditions, medications, treatment plans, and preventive health
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure coordinated patient care
• Promote preventive care and healthy lifestyle practices
• Provide clinical coverage on an as-needed basis for provider absences
• Deliver onsite patient care when available; provide telehealth coverage when appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
• Board certification as an NP or PA
• Clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or family medicine
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the clinical team
• Flexible availability for PRN (as-needed) coverage

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to provide onsite coverage at the Grass Valley office

Schedule

This is a contingent position with flexible, as-needed scheduling to cover provider absences. Work arrangement is onsite preferred; telehealth coverage may be considered when onsite coverage is unavailable.
