The Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in both urgent and ongoing ambulatory settings. In this role, you will conduct crisis evaluations, perform diagnostic and psychopharmacology assessments, and deliver psychopharmacological treatment to patients experiencing urgent psychiatric needs while maintaining a panel of patients receiving ongoing care through the center's multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis evaluations for patients experiencing urgent psychiatric needs
- Conduct diagnostic and psychopharmacology evaluations
- Deliver psychopharmacological treatment and ongoing patient management
- Apply the nursing process and clinical practice standards in an expanded role
- Participate in research involvement and consultative services
- Serve as an inter and intradepartmental liaison
- Provide patient and family education
- Contribute to team leadership and patient care management
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Completion of an accredited educational program for nurse practitioners
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization from the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role
- Registration with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners
- Registration with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writing privileges
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of three years of current clinical nursing experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in adult practice

- Prior experience in related clinical practice

- Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with healthcare team members, patients, and families
- Computer proficiency including ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data and information
- Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities in accordance with practice setting demands for the patient populations regularly served
Schedule
- Part-time position
- 24-hour coverage model with three 8-hour shifts per week
- Includes one weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday)
- Some flexibility in start and end times
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $112,000 to $162,500 annually (based on Boston-area data; subject to modification based on geographic location)
