Nurse Practitioner | Behavioral Health | Full-Time

This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care as a Nurse Practitioner. You will assess, plan, and treat the mental health and care needs of individuals with mental illness, working independently and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and updates
• Manage medications for mental health conditions
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests
• Provide psychiatric crisis intervention
• Utilize the nursing process as a framework for managing patient care
• Apply advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills
• Work in consultation with physicians and other healthcare providers
• May serve as the primary provider with physician back-up available in-house

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Wisconsin
• Master's or Doctorate degree in nursing
• Certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from an approved certifying organization
• Advanced practice nurse prescriber certification
• Ability to meet performance criteria for the position
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to speak English and write in an understandable manner
• Competence to serve specific patient populations
• Appropriate medical staff affiliation
