This position provides professional patient care in an office-based clinical setting. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with physicians to diagnose and treat established patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and manage patient education and follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Take patient history and record information in patient charts
  • Confer with physicians about new patient findings, potential diagnoses, and treatment options
  • Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians about appropriate treatment
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, instruct and counsel patients, and document progress
  • Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations
  • Provide diagnosis and treatment services to established patients
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and immunotherapy in accordance with physician protocols
  • Formulate and update patient care plans, consulting with physicians as needed
  • Perform patient education duties, including showing immunotherapy videos, distributing brochures, and directing patients to educational resources
  • Act as backup and place patients in examination rooms as needed
  • Transmit prescription requests to pharmacy, document actions in patient charts, and obtain physician approval signatures
  • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure emergency situations are scheduled appropriately while maintaining timely patient flow
  • Return patient phone messages at designated times throughout the day and document actions in patient charts
  • Triage incoming telephone calls, provide treatment instructions to patients and families, and document actions taken
  • Complete all assigned training (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, Information Security, and others) within designated timeframes
  • Comply with organizational policies and report policy violations to appropriate supervisors, management, compliance, or through the ethics hotline

Required Qualifications

  • NP degree
  • Current licensure maintained (must be licensed to treat all ages)
  • At least two years of experience in a physician office or hospital
  • Ability to make independent decisions about patient care
  • Experience diagnosing and treating patients
  • Working knowledge of managed care basics and experience working with managed care and Medicare populations
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
  • Good communication skills
  • Neat, professional appearance
