Nurse Practitioner, After Hours Care, PRN

This position provides after-hours nurse practitioner care for patients requiring evaluation and treatment outside standard office hours in Corydon, Indiana. You will practice in alignment with State of Indiana guidelines and your employee agreement, functioning independently while maintaining collaboration with clinic and hospital resources as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct focused histories and physical examinations
• Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic decision-making
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe or coordinate therapies within your scope of practice
• Document thoroughly in the electronic health record (Cerner)
• Provide clear patient communication, discharge guidance, and education tailored to health literacy levels
• Collaborate with clinic and hospital resources while functioning independently in an after-hours setting

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Current Indiana Nurse Practitioner licensure
• Minimum 3 years of professional nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of nurse practitioner experience
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent patient education and communication abilities
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Schedule

• PRN (as-needed) position
• Monday–Friday: 1 pm–9 pm shifts
• Saturday–Sunday: 9 am–5 pm shifts
• Minimum availability requirement: one weekday shift and one weekend shift per month
• Provides reliable after-hours access for the community
