Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide expert clinical care in collaboration with attending physicians. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic illnesses in our 254-bed acute care hospital and affiliated primary and specialty care medical offices.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients, employees, and family members to construct comprehensive medical histories
- Perform initial and periodic physical examinations
- Evaluate patient behavior and explore patient interpretation of health needs
- Provide comprehensive health assessments and medical diagnosis of acute and chronic illnesses
- Write prescriptions and formulate treatment plans
- Provide treatment including administering medications, vaccines, and performing procedures
- Write orders to increase, decrease, or change medications subject to physician consultation
- Assist in medical and surgical care and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with attending and consulting physicians
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure in the state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy
- AHA-BLS, ARC-BLS, AHA-CPR, or ARC-CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of relevant clinical experience
