NURSE PRACTITIONER - 09292026-81254

The Bradley County Health Department seeks a Nurse Practitioner to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered primary care to adult patients ages 18-64. This full-time position supports public health initiatives, manages patients with chronic health conditions, and works collaboratively with the local health department team to improve access to care and meet county and regional performance goals.

Clinical Setting

This position is located at the Bradley County Health Department in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily primary care to adults ages 18-64 in adherence with Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners and Tennessee Board of Nursing rules and regulations
• Perform and order routine health screenings, diagnostic tests, and assessments
• Manage patients with multiple chronic health issues, ensuring continuity and quality of care
• Serve as a clinical resource for Public Health Nurses and provide guidance on patient care practices
• Improve patient access by delivering timely and efficient care aligned with Standards of Practice Guidelines, supported by physician feedback and leadership input
• Promote telehealth for patients facing access barriers and use virtual care tools to enhance patient compliance when appropriate
• Utilize the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with Electronic Standards of Practice (ESOP) and Community Health Services (CHS) guidelines
• Provide direct care to patients with communicable diseases following program guidelines and national standards of care
• Deliver patient education and counseling aligned with CDC and Tennessee Department of Health recommendations
• Support public health outreach and community engagement efforts as requested

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in a nursing clinical specialty area with preparation in specialized practitioner skills, or possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in the State of Tennessee
• Current national certification or eligible for national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse with Advanced Practice Nurse certificate in the State of Tennessee and national certification in the appropriate nursing specialty area are required within 60 days after employment
• Possession of a Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing is required within 60 days after employment
• Valid driver's license
• Driver record must not have record of the following violations within the past five years: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations

Compensation

• Monthly Salary: $7,458.00
• Annual Salary: $89,496.00
