Penn State Hershey Medical Center is recruiting nursing students for a 10-week Summer Nurse Externship program in Women's Health (May 17 – July 24, 2027). This is an entry-level clinical learning opportunity designed for nursing students entering their final year of an accredited nursing program.
You will be assigned to a Registered Nurse mentor throughout the externship and will work in the obstetric/gynecology services, which includes antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, mother/baby couplets, and transitional newborn care. The department operates 9 labor beds, 4 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 28-36 postpartum/antepartum rooms, providing exposure to a high-risk, high-volume clinical environment.
