The opportunity
Job Description
Broward Health North is seeking a Nurse Extern to provide basic nursing skills and care within a patient and family-centered care model on the Trauma/Tele pool. Working nights under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with essential clinical tasks that support quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
- Perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKG procedures
- Provide basic nursing skills and support
- Facilitate quality service outcomes within a patient and family-centered care model
Education
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with completion of at least the third year, OR
- Enrollment in an Associate Degree in Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting
