Nurse Extern - Telemetry - FT - Night - Jefferson Einstein Philly

Jefferson Health is hiring a Nurse Extern for the Telemetry unit at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. This is a full-time, 8-week summer position running from June 1 through late July 2026, working three 12-hour shifts with rotating night shifts.

As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager, performing routine patient care assignments in controlled care situations. You will carry out established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients, demonstrate accountability for assigned patients during your shift, and actively seek out learning opportunities and guidance from nursing staff.

Clinical Setting

You will work on the Telemetry unit at Albert Einstein Medical Center, located at 5501 Old York Road, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating night shifts
• Start date: June 1, 2026
• Duration: 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college of nursing program
• Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing
• Completion of at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation
• Completion of clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work full-time hours

Education

Nursing students who graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 will be accepted into this program. You will be required to provide transcripts.
