Nurse Extern Short Stay Unit

This is a Nurse Extern position in the Short Stay Unit at SSM Saint Louis University Hospital. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the direct supervision and guidance of a registered nurse preceptor who will provide personalized 1:1 clinical training and hands-on assistance throughout your role.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care consistent with each patient's plan of care under RN direction and supervision
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN in a timely manner
• Make rounds and handle basic patient requests
• Perform patient and family assistance tasks as needed
• Seek and utilize feedback from your Clinical Leader and RN to identify opportunities for clinical performance improvement

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing
• Successfully completed one clinical nursing rotation
