Nurse Extern PRN Women's

TriStar Horizon Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN for the Women's Services department. As a Nurse Extern, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist the nursing staff in providing care to patients in accordance with your skills, training, and departmental needs while maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department
• Communicate pertinent patient information to appropriate individuals
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer systems
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned patients
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for this position after completion of first nursing semester or as a CNA in first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current and maintained within hospital policy timeframes
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Clinical Setting

TriStar Horizon Medical Center is an accredited, 150+ bed regional medical center offering a full array of services including cardiology, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, inpatient rehabilitation, oncology, orthopedics, and women's services. The facility is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center.
