Nurse Extern PRN

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to join our nursing team. As a Nurse Extern, you will gain hands-on experience exploring the full scope of the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care that improves patients' lives. This position is ideal for nursing students building skills and confidence as they progress through their nursing program.

Clinical Setting

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is a 100-bed hospital serving Rutherford County, Tennessee. We provide complete medical care for adults and children, including emergency, surgical, and numerous other services. Our medical staff includes approximately 500 physicians representing more than 45 specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Perform nursing tasks including wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and competency
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and offer guidance for health and recovery
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and partner with your supervisor or preceptor to develop your personal career development plan

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position
• No travel required
