Nurse Extern PRN Rehab

Join HCA HealthONE Swedish as a Nurse Extern in our Rehabilitation department. This PRN position offers hands-on experience in nursing care while you progress through your nursing program. You'll work alongside experienced nursing staff, gaining practical skills and confidence in the full scope of the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care to rehabilitation patients.

Clinical Setting

HCA HealthONE Swedish is a 408-bed acute care hospital and part of one of the nation's leading healthcare providers. The rehabilitation department serves patients recovering from various conditions requiring specialized care and mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital sign monitoring, mobility support, and comfort and hygiene measures
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and competency
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure coordinated, seamless patient care
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and provide guidance for health and recovery
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and organizing the environment
• Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and work with your supervisor or preceptor to develop your personal career development plan

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or currently enrolled in a nursing program)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position
• No travel required

Compensation

• Hourly wage: $22.05 - $29.78 per hour
• Actual salary may vary based on specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role
