Nurse Extern PRN

Oviedo Medical Center, a 64-bed acute care hospital serving east Seminole County and surrounding communities, is seeking a Nurse Extern PRN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This position offers PRN (as-needed) scheduling flexibility while you complete your nursing education.

As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses to assist with a variety of delegated basic patient care services, including common nursing functions and activities of daily living. You will support the nursing staff in providing patient care according to your skills, training, and departmental needs, while helping maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. As you demonstrate competency, you may perform higher-level procedures.

Clinical Setting

Oviedo Medical Center is a full-service acute care hospital offering surgical inpatient units, intensive care, 24/7 emergency care, medical cardiology and telemetry services, inpatient and outpatient surgery, women's services including labor and delivery, comprehensive diagnostic imaging, cardiopulmonary services, and cardiac catheterization.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing
• BLS certification
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrollment in Second Semester or beyond of nursing program
