Nurse Extern PRN Ortho Spine

Join HCA HealthONE Aurora as a Nurse Extern in our Ortho Spine unit, where you'll gain hands-on clinical experience as part of the nursing team while exploring the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. This PRN position offers the opportunity to deliver safe, compassionate care to patients while building the skills and confidence needed to progress through your nursing program.

Clinical Setting

HCA HealthONE Aurora is one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region, with seven acute care hospitals in the Denver metro area. Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
• Perform nursing tasks including wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and competency
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and offer guidance for health and recovery
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
• Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and partner with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree
• One year of experience
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position
• No travel required

Compensation

Hourly wage estimate: $22.05 - $29.78 per hour. The estimate displayed represents the typical wage range of candidates hired. Factors that may determine your actual salary include your specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
