Nurse Extern PRN Neuro MS

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern for a PRN position in the Neuro Medical-Surgical unit. As a Nurse Extern, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting the nursing staff with a variety of delegated basic patient care services and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department
• Communicate pertinent patient information to appropriate individuals
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer systems
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment
• Perform higher-level procedures once competency is achieved

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for this position after completion of first nursing semester or as a CNA in first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current and maintained within hospital policy timeframes
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
