Nurse Extern PRN ENT GI

TriStar Skyline Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern to join our ENT and GI departments on a PRN basis. As a Nurse Extern, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will work in a 350+ bed facility that serves as Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center, a state-designated Level 1 Trauma Center, and a national leader in neuroscience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department
• Communicate pertinent information to appropriate individuals
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer systems
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned patients
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for this role after completion of first nursing semester or as a CNA in first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current and maintained within hospital policy timeframes
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Clinical Setting

You will work in a comprehensive medical center equipped with 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, burn care services, a CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program, and an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI capabilities.
