Join HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge as a Nurse Extern PRN ED and gain hands-on experience in a 157-bed, Level II state-designated trauma facility. As a Nurse Extern, you will be a valued part of the nursing team, exploring the full scope of the Registered Nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate care that improves patients' lives. Clinical Setting
Mountain Ridge is part of HCA HealthONE, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region. The facility includes two freestanding, full-service emergency rooms and an outpatient surgery center, serving the north metro Denver communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential patient care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene
- Perform nursing tasks including wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and develop competency
- Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
- Help patients and families understand their care plans and offer guidance for their health and recovery
- Maintain clean and safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment
- Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and partner with your supervisor or preceptor to build your personal career development plan
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree
- One year of experience required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

- PRN (as needed) position

Compensation
- Hourly wage estimate: $22.05 - $29.78 per hour
