Nurse Extern PRN Chesterfield ER

Join Chippenham Hospital's nursing team as a Nurse Extern in the Emergency Department. This PRN position offers hands-on clinical experience as you progress through your RN program, allowing you to explore the full scope of the registered nurse role while delivering safe, compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care including assistance with activities of daily living, vital sign monitoring, mobility support, and comfort and hygiene measures
• Perform nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other basic procedures as you gain experience and competency
• Document care accurately and communicate timely updates with the nursing team to ensure coordinated patient care
• Help patients and families understand their care plans and provide guidance for health and recovery
• Maintain clean and safe patient areas by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and organizing the environment
• Engage in learning opportunities, share ideas to improve care, and work with your supervisor or preceptor to develop your personal career development plan

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an RN program
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Compensation

• Hourly wage: $16.02 - $22.43 per hour
• Actual salary may vary based on specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role
