Nurse Extern, PRN, Cheraw

This PRN Nurse Extern position in Cheraw provides flexible scheduling around your nursing school coursework. As a Nurse Extern, you will support the nursing team by performing essential patient care tasks and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain patient hygiene and cleanliness
• Maintain appropriate storage and safety of medications, including large volume IVs, alcohol, saline, and prepackaged medication kits
• Conduct hourly rounds using Service Excellence Standards
• Perform or assist with nutritional and hydration interventions, including feeding, providing fluids, water, or snacks
• Collect and record patient-related data through direct care tasks
• Identify and communicate appropriate patient data to interdisciplinary team members
• Perform general transportation and courier duties as directed
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal-setting and participation in evidence-based tasks
• Utilize appropriate health and safety practices to protect patients and staff
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a nursing program with fundamentals of nursing completed
• BLS certification required on hire
