Nurse Extern Part-time PCU

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a part-time basis. As a Nurse Extern, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by performing delegated basic patient care services under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care, maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment, and supporting patients with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in the department
• Communicate pertinent patient information to appropriate individuals
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients
• Document patient care information in appropriate computer systems
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited RN nursing program
• Can be considered for this position after completion of first nursing semester or as a CNA in first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current and maintained within hospital policy timeframes
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
