Nurse Extern

This is a temporary PRN position for nursing students who have completed their sophomore year or are in their second level of an Associates degree RN program. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses, contributing to the nursing process and delivering safe, efficient, and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collect assessment data and contribute to the nursing process
• Document care activities in accordance with OSUMC standards
• Provide age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development
• Assess patient data and interpret information to identify patient requirements
• Participate in the plan for provision of patient care as described in Patient Care policies and procedures
• Adhere to rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN Nursing Program
• BLS certification
• Nursing program skills checklist completed

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior student status
• Last semester of Junior Year student
