The opportunity

Job Description

Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Neuro/Trauma Medical-Surgical unit. In this PRN position, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing basic bedside care and performing selected nursing procedures. You will gain exposure to a diverse patient population and develop clinical skills in a state-of-the-art facility featuring a four-story Ortenzio Heart Center and around-the-clock complex critical care services.

Clinical Setting

Holy Spirit Medical Center is a 281-bed acute inpatient facility serving the greater Harrisburg region with locations across Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, and Northern York counties. The facility provides comprehensive medical services with specialized capabilities in cardiac care and critical care for life-threatening injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic bedside care under RN supervision
  • Perform selected nursing procedures as assigned
  • Support individualized, innovative, and specialized patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one clinical rotation, OR
  • Graduate Nurse status without having passed the NCLEX
