Nurse Extern - Neurology/NeuroSurgery

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Extern for the Neurology/NeuroSurgery unit. This role is designed to provide nursing students with a structured learning opportunity to acquire basic clinical skills and advance their knowledge of patient care in a specialty setting.

As a Nurse Extern, you will perform delegated basic patient care services under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist patients with activities of daily living and maintain a safe patient environment.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program
• Successfully completed at least one clinical semester of the core curriculum
• Active American Heart Association CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider card
• Ability to maintain flexible scheduling of at least 32 hours per month, including one weekend shift and one major holiday in summer and one major holiday in winter

Schedule and Orientation

• Flexible scheduling based on unit need and colleague availability
• Completion of mandatory full-week hospital orientation (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) is required before beginning the position
